Art for the Self-Aware: Why I Started KSL art

A note before you read on —

This is a relaunch. KSL art has been here before, and then life happened — the kind that stops everything.

It started with a divorce. And then, before I could catch my breath, I lost both of my parents. All of it, back to back. The kind of grief you don't plan for and can't rush through.

But somewhere in the middle of all that loss, something unexpected happened. God found me. I can't fully explain it — but in the hardest season of my life, I felt held. By faith. By my siblings. By my dogs. By art.

Art has always been where I go when words aren't enough. And slowly, quietly, it brought me back here.

So this isn't just a new collection. It's a return. And I'm glad you're here for it.

KSL art started as a channel for my thoughts.

Not a business plan. Not a brand strategy. Just a place where the things living inside my head could finally exist outside of it — in color, in line, in form.

I've always processed the world through art. The big feelings. The quiet realizations. The questions that don't have clean answers. Making something visual out of them was how I made sense of being human.

And then something unexpected happened.

I started sharing the work — and people saw themselves in it. Not because we're the same. But because we're all navigating the same fundamental things: growth, doubt, love, becoming, the endless work of figuring out who we are and what we're carrying.

We're all the same. And also completely different. And somehow, that's exactly where art lives — in that space between.

KSL art is an extension of me. My inner world, made visible. But the moment it leaves my hands, it becomes yours too. Something to hang on your wall, hold in your hands, sit with in the morning.

A reminder that the things you feel most privately — someone else is feeling them too.

That's why I make what I make. And that's who I make it for.
